1. Don't Put Any Liquid around Your Laptop
The first thing, don't put any glass filled with water around your laptop. Even though you've never spilled anything to your computer, sooner or later, you will. Obviously, the spill of water will seriously injure your laptop.
2. Don't Put Your Laptop on Bed
Whenever you put your laptop on soft material, such as bed or sofa, you block the ventilation holes at the bottom of your laptop and your laptop can't get air for cooling itself. This will cause overheat. If your laptop overheats, it can cause damages to your laptop and your hard drive could lose your important data you have stored.
3. Don't Leave Your Laptop on the Floor Unattended
Always put your laptop where people can see it. There is no reason for you to put your laptop on the floor. Because you might not know people will accidentally step on it. The other thing is no matter how clean the floors are, there are always tiny little particles that will get in to your laptop's gear and ruin your laptop.
4. Manage Your Battery Life
Most manufacturers recommend to using battery until it's completely drained at least once a month. Don't keep charging your battery when it's fully charged, so your battery will last longer.
5. Go Get a Laptop Case or Sleeve
They are easy to find and also cheap. A laptop case can reduce the damage when your laptop falls. If you put your laptop inside the case, it also reduces the chances of scratches on your laptop when you are holding it.
6. Be Careful Plugging In the Charger
You need to be passion and gentle when plugging in your computer. Don't put too much force. If it doesn't fit, then don't force it to get in because it can crack. And if you notice that the jack is loose, you have to bring it to someone who knows how to fix it as soon as possible. If you keep using your laptop in this condition, it will destroy the charger and the motherboard.
7. Clean Your Screen Correctly
You have to clean your screen when it's dirty. Go grab 2 tissues, one wet and one dry, wipe your screen using the wet one first, and then wipe it again using the dry one. Don't use any chemical cleaners, like Windex, to clean your screen because the chemicals can break the thin protective layer on your screen and damage and the display.
